What is Linux ?
Linux is basically a free Operating system. And also it is an open source operating system.(this term may be new to you. Let me explain this). Opensource means that you have direct access to the source code(program) of the software. You can directly open the source code of the Software provided free to you. Then why should we go for a software for which you have to pay a lot money.
Even some other operating systems are also free and opensource( Opensolaris, FreeDOS, ReactOS etc) But Linux is powerful than any other OS. Another advantage of this Linux is "NO VIRUS". It's totally virus free.
